All pets deserve a fur-ever home. When they find it, some are slow to adapt and take a little time to get accustomed to their new surroundings. Others, however, are just eternally and immediately grateful to have a new family and place to call home. He was adopted only a few hours before this picture was taken. He had already claimed his favorite spot on the couch.
This picture was taken right after the adoption. We think she made the right choice.
This kitten was rescued. Within a day, she was already settled in with her new family.
What dog doesn’t love a car ride? Fig loved the journey with his new mom to his new home.
This is Luna. This picture was taken a couple of hours after she moved into the house. It looks like she got comfortable quickly.
This is Henry. You would think that he had been with his owner since he was a puppy when you see how much he loves her. This picture was actually taken only a few hours after she adopted him.
When they brought home a new tabby, they were afraid their other cat might not like the latest addition to the family. They had nothing to worry about.
This little guy was abandoned at a gas station. Many people tried to catch him. He evaded them all until he found the person he chose as his owner. He immediately went running up to her. After that, she couldn’t let go.
When they brought him into the house, he found the first sock he could and curled right up with it. He was finally home.
Faye’s old owners abandoned her on the streets in the middle of the summer heat in Texas. Hayley took her in. We’re pretty sure that Faye approved.

They were driving this kitten home for the first time. He had already decided on his favorite human.
One of the best things about a new home with people who want you to be a part of their family is the treats. This dog showed so much surprise and appreciation.
This little kitten was a flea-covered stray. After they got her home and gave her a bath, she was ready to stay close forever after.

Some cats are shy at first. Not this one. She found somewhere to play and claimed it as hers.
She was already making herself comfortable on the first day they brought her home. A few toys and a blanket really helped.
When Sam (on the right) walked into his new home, he was immediately greeted by the resident Corgi. He didn’t seem to mind all of the extra attention.

This in Ninja. She took up nearly half the length of the sofa shortly after discovering it.
Not all adventures to a new home are scary. Some are downright exciting.
#26 Safe to close your eyes
This sleepy puppy couldn’t even stay awake for the trip to his new home. He had already passed out by the time they got there.
This is Pepper. She was adopted as an adult. She settled in quickly and curled up with her new human. However, that didn’t stop her from giving the occasional unsure stare. Maybe she couldn’t believe her amazing luck.
They got him the day before this picture was taken. He already looked utterly comfortable in his surroundings.
They brought him to a local park after bringing him home for the first time. He was already acting like part of the family.
While they were still filling out the paperwork to take him home, Teddy was already claiming a lap. Even after adoption, it’s still one of his favorite places.
This rescue dog was miserable and covered in matted fur when she was discovered. However, with a little love, attention, and a lot of grooming, she became her full, vibrant, and happy self.
It’s nice to be out of the shelter and back in a house. This pup knows it.
This is Bentley. His new owner brought him by the pet store for some toys of his own before bringing him home. He responded with pure love.
The people at the shelter said it might take a while for these two sisters to get comfortable in their new home. The shelter workers might have been wrong in this case.
#35 Waiting for the next adventure
These two greyhounds were already ready to bound off into a new life. They just had to wait for the car door to open first.

This is Desi on her way to her new home. She was so tired that she could barely keep her eyes open.
