Anyone who has a baby or a toddler, or remembers being one, knows pretty well that it doesn’t take much to make them laugh. You could accidentally drop your phone and they’ll think it’s the funniest thing in the world. They also seem to love when family pets do something silly – but then again, don’t we all?
This video is all but a minute long, but it demonstrates the above point way too well.
A garden hose seems to be the number 1 source of joy for these two, a toddler and a Rough Collie. With the hose in his hands, I can’t tell if this little boy is giving their Rough Collie a drinking fountain, a shower, or both. They’re definitely having fun, though.
Not that it matters to the Collie, who’s having one heck of a time with it.
The Rough Collie’s long, flowing hairs, pointy snout and 3 colored coat makes it unmistakable. It’s also a rather good breed to have around kids, as their temperament happens to be on the low side. This friendly carpet with legs could make a really good friend for your kids!
In fact, the relationship is mutually beneficial. Your kids get a loving, 60-pound companion with silky long hair, and the Collie gets the socialization and interaction that the breed thrives on! That, and you can keep them occupied and happy with a lot more things than just a garden hose.
Who knows how long this garden hose has been on, but these two aren’t stopping.
Having command over the hose’s nozzle has put the biggest smile on this little boy’s face. Hey, we all had a blast playing with water-spraying things as kids, didn’t we? Should be easy to empathize with the kid.
The dog, obviously unable to understand the concept of “the water bill”, just fully commits to playing with the baby boy and their own, personal fountain.
On the other hand, the kid loses it every single time the Collie attempts a quick lap at the water. Just in case you weren’t already convinced that Rough Collies are fantastic with kids.
All the little boy has done for the last minute straight, is hold up the hose with all the stamina his little arms can muster, and watch the Collie’s shenanigans.
The Collie’s shenanigans, correspondingly, involve a lot of drinking and jumping at the water. It’s more than enough to keep the little boy entertained for a while. Jeez, can you imagine if everyone started giggling at you for just trying to get a quick drink?
While there’s more than a handful of dog breeds that are also fantastic companions for kids, a Rough Collie is still a superb choice – provided you intend to be responsible for it! Your kids are bound to love it as much as it loves them, and videos like this only make that even more clear.
