It’s interesting to know, right? According to Mom.com, elephants usually express their emotion through touch and visual cues.

“Whether grazing or gathering around a water hole, family members are in near-constant contact, flapping ears and rubbing bodies together to show care and compassion for one another.”

They are really expressive and sociable.

Just like us humans, elephants comfort each other by hugging. They also put their trunks in each other’s mouths whenever they want to console each other.

The caption of the video reads:

“After promising preparations and eagerly anticipated, Pori and her daughter Tana and her granddaughters Tamika and Elani were brought together in the outdoor area of the elephant house in the Halle mountain zoo this morning. This reunion was not only uncomplicated, but was a visibly joyful event for the four of them.”

The zoo even recounted a moving moment of Pori with her granddaughters Tamika and Elani. They said that one of the young elephants, which is Elani, even tried to drink from Pori’s teats. It’s like they are already comfortable with her.

The zoo deserves to be commended for temporarily closing the elephant house to visitors to protect the elephants and help them become comfortable with their surroundings. They are also doing everything to be able to achieve their goal.

Even the Zoo director, Dr. Dennis Muller is very vocal about it.

Pori’s arrival in Halle is an important step in modern elephant husbandry,” he said.

“In the future, all elephant herds in European zoos should be cared for in such natural family structures. Today we have come a great deal closer to this goal,” he added.
