Anyone who’s ever owned a cat can tell you that they just love climbing on top of things. On top of the fridge, a swinging door, a coat hanger, if they can see it, they will try to perch on top of it. Often, this can be a predatory instinct to observe their environment for a vantage point. In many adorable cases however, they chose not to sit on top of something that is static and inanimate.
Even an unsuspecting horse is not safe from being unintentionally ridden.
Even if it’s actually a real horse!
In this delightful video, you can see two very unusual buddies and how for this cat, no siting place is out of reach. It starts off with…let’s say a greeting between the two friends. As this stunning black, orange and white cat walks along the fence line, its maned mate gives it a friendly sniff.
After poising, the cat claims its spot.
With an effortless leap, our feline friend hops onto the back of the horse. Now, obviously there was no dialogue between this cat and the horse, but if that’s what you’re into, the video does also feature some, let’s say “creative” subtitles.
Kitty’s getting comfy.
Having found his spot on the back of this very patient and acomodating horse, the cat shimmies into a comfortable position. Anyone who can understand the body language of cats knows that this means “I’m not going anywhere, any time soon.” Alright Mr. Kitty, you get comfortable.
The horse does not mind at all!
I suppose that if you have humans on your back, a tiny, purring furry friend is no bother at all! Just as well, this seems to be a very agreeable place for the cat to hang out. He doesn’t seem to mind at all as the horse goes about its business eating grass. to beg the question that the subtitles do: Is this cat expecting a ride somewhere?
If he is, he’s in no hurry whatsoever.
Happy to sit on the train until it leaves, our cat stays relaxing on his horse buddy’s back as it continues to munch away at the turf. It’s possible that this cat simply enjoys the warmth and vantage of sitting way up on the back if a horse, like some kind of knight. It’s also possible, however vaguely that he’s anticipating a journey…
Indeed, he seems very curious about what his horse friend is up to.
Who knows, he could be getting impatient about why the carriage hasn’t left the station yet, or perhaps he’s just curious about what all the fuss is about with all that grass. Either way, this exchange is nothing short of adorable.
Content to sit and relax however, he leaves his horse to its lunch.
When another horse joins the friends for a light lunch of grass from a tub, and haphazardly lifts it almost as if to offer it to our horsey friend, Mr. Cat seems quite cozy perched up there. You do have to wonder if the horse decided to actually leave, what would the cat do? I’d like to think he’d go along for the ride.
